LOTTE Chemical announced on the 27th that it held the Project LOOP Match Day at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on the 26th to improve awareness of resource circulation. This event was part of LOOP LOTTE, aimed at spreading recycling culture within the LOTTE Group and expanding the use of materials, and was conducted in collaboration with the LOTTE Giants.

Since 2020, LOTTE Chemical has been promoting the “Project LOOP” campaign to enhance the culture of collecting waste plastics and build a circulation economy for plastics through recycling. The Match Day has also been held for the third consecutive year since 2022. In September of last year, the Company launched the eco-friendly material brand “ECOSEED,” which combines physically and chemically recycled materials and bioplastics.

The Match Day event took place in the central square of Sajik Baseball Stadium, starting two hours before the game. Various activities were organized to promote the importance of resource circulation, as well as the Project LOOP and the eco-friendly material brand ECOSEED, including a recyclable curling game and a resource circulation quiz in which anyone was welcomed to participate. Participants received limited-edition eco-friendly iced tea and windbreakers made from recycled PET bottles as prizes. During the game, spectators also participated in an OX quiz related to Project LOOP.

A LOTTE Giants baseball fan who participated in the event said, “I had only been casually interested in recycling, but I realized the importance of resource circulation, and I enjoyed the various events.” They added, “I hope companies like LOTTE Chemical hold such events regularly to raise awareness of various eco-friendly practices.”

LOTTE Chemical’s Project LOOP is a campaign aimed at building a circulation economy for plastics. It encompasses several initiatives, including LOOP Social, which discovers and nurtures social ventures in the resource circulation sector; LOOP Cluster, which promotes sourcing recycled raw materials in collaboration with local governments and public/private facilities; LOOP LOTTE, which spreads recycling culture within the LOTTE Group and expands the use of materials; and LOOP Alliance, which aims to expand the recycling ecosystem across various industries.
