LOTTE Chemical announced on the 24th that it has obtained integrated certifications for the International Standard Compliance Management System (ISO 37301) and Anti-Corruption Management System (ISO 37001) from the Korea Management Registrar (KMR), an accredited certification authority.
ISO 37301 and ISO 37001 are international standard certifications that evaluates whether the compliance and anti-corruption requirements established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) are reflected on corporate management systems and are managed and operated systematically. The certifications require companies to identify, control, and manage potential risks such as legal violations and corruption that may arise in corporate activities. Companies that receive these certifications are obligated to assign roles and responsibilities related to anti-corruption and ethical management to all employees.
LOTTE Chemical established a Compliance Team under the Compliance Management Headquarters, reporting directly to the CEO, in 2018, and has operated a compliance system that meets global standards. Additionally, it became the first domestic petrochemical company to obtain ISO 37001 certification in 2019, emphasizing its commitment to establishing an ESG management environment with efforts for compliance.
With its industry-leading compliance management system, LOTTE Chemical earned A rating, which was one step higher than the previous BBB rating, in the 2024 ESG assessment announced by MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), the global evaluation agency, in May.
LOTTE Chemical President & CEO Lee Hun Ki stated, "We expect that this integrated certification will enhance LOTTE Chemicals’ various compliance, anti-corruption, and integrity activities." He added, "As corporate ethics and compliance management are essential, we will enhance corporate credibility by building management systems aligned with international standards."
