The seminars are scheduled to be expanded to twice a year starting this year. At this seminar, about 100 companies attended to exchange latest information on Korea’s Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances and the Consumer Chemical Products and Biocides Safety Control Act.
It was noticed that some companies had difficulties in identifying the chemical substance regulations of countries around the world such as USA and Europe due to lack of experts, cost issues, etc. to share trends of legal changes abroad, while also holding the first-ever session on executing product responsibility from an ESG perspective according to concerns for and strengthening the global supply chain.
‘GS Company’ CEO Oh Dong Jin, who attended this seminar, stated, “I was able to gain understanding on the latest chemical substance regulation trends, detailed contents, and works that have to be conducted, and recognized that the role of partner companies is crucial in the supply chain.”
LOTTE Chemical ESG Management Sector Executive Director Park In Cheol, who hosted this seminar, commented, “Companies that are unable to keep up with the latest global regulations are bound to fall behind in developing new technologies and products,” while adding, “LOTTE Chemical plans to support not only identifying the latest trends, but also various education programs in order to enhance the competitiveness and strengthen ESG management of partner companies.”
