LOTTE Chemical announced that in celebration of its 47th anniversary, it donated 600 bags of 10kg rice sacks (worth about 17 million KRW) to local children’s centers of Daejeon on the 10th. The donated rice was purchased directly by LOTTE Chemical from a farm near the Daesan plant to promote the local agricultural economy and was delivered to local children’s center through the Yuseong-gu Happy Nuri Foundation.

On this day, employees of the LOTTE Chemical Institute of Technology visited a local children’s center in Daejeon to help with chores and hold the ‘LOTTE Green Seoul’, which is an environmental education program. The children learned about the importance of protecting the environment and the proper way to recycle plastics. They also made jump ropes using waste plastic to experience circulating resources first-hand.

The Institute of Technology has been operating the ‘LOTTE Green School’ for children and adolescents since '21. ‘LOTTE Green School’ is a social contribution activity in which the institute visits local children’s centers once a month to educate children on the things that have to be done to protect Earth and the environment.

In addition to this rice donation event, LOTTE Chemical has been engaging in various social contribution activities focusing on the three themes of environment, women/children, and the community under the vision of ‘Sustainable Companionship, Green Circulation’.
