LOTTE Chemical Opens In-company Cafe ‘Chemi Story’
to Help the Socially Marginalized become Independent

LOTTE Chemical announced that it opened an in-company cafe ‘Chemi Story’ to provide support for economic dependent and to create stable jobs for socially marginalized people.
At the opening event held in the morning, six baristas with disabilities and Basic Materials President Hwang Jin-gu and members from the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities and the social company ‘HISBEANS’ were present to congratulate the opening of the cafe and hold events to encourage them.
Employees hired as baristas of ‘Chemi Story’ completed specialized training and they will provide high-quality coffee, beverages, etc. to LOTTE Chemical employees at cheap prices.
CEO Hwang Jin-gu, who participated in this event to give words of encouragement to the disabled baristas, said, “It will be a meaningful cafe as it can provide stable jobs to young people with disabilities,” and added “We will come up with and implement plans as efforts to improve awareness and provide support for the socially marginalized.”
Meanwhile, LOTTE Chemical has been coming up with and sponsoring CSR programs for women and children aside from the support programs for socially marginalized people.
