President Hwang Jin-koo Participates in ‘Go Go Challenge’
LOTTE Chemical Basic Chemicals
President Hwang Jin-koo joined the ‘Go Go Challenge.’
Go Go Challenge is a challenge that began as a campaign to reduce the use of
plastic in everyday life, where a person pledges one thing to do and one not to
do in everyday life, and then designates the next challenger in relay format.
Hwang Jin-koo participated in this challenge after being recommended by SK Gas
CEO Yoon Byung Suk.
Hwang pledged to continue to take the initiative for protecting the environment
with the slogan, ‘Go reduce greenhouse gas emissions! Go use eco-friendly
products!’ LOTTE Chemical became the first Korean chemical company to complete
testing of CCU (carbon capture and utilization) facilities applying membrane
gas and began designs for its commercialization to pursue climate change
response and carbon-neutral growth. In addition, it is also focusing its
capacities for producing and developing eco-friendly products such as being the
only company in Korea to manufacture Bio-PET.
Hwang stated, “LOTTE Chemical is striving to improve awareness on resource
circulation and construct a plastic circulating economic system by pursuing
‘Project LOOP,’ developing PCR materials, and converting the entire PET to
C-rPET at the Ulsan Plant.”
Meanwhile, President Hwang Jin-goo designated Hyundai Oil Bank CEO Joo
Young-min as the next person to join the challenge.
